Rachel + Ethan's Intimate Campground Wedding
All of our weddings are incredibly special to us. Behind every wedding is a real life couple in love with a real life story of how they got to this point and WE. GET. TO. BE. A. PART. OF. THAT. That truth never gets old- it’s an honor every time.
Rachel and Ethan came to us with a beautiful vision with a very short amount of time (4 months!) and with a very small budget to make that happen. There’s a myth out there that only big-budget weddings have the luxury of hiring wedding planners. We call BS! It’s amazing what a little creativity and using your resources can do to make that precious moolah stretch for miles. Together, we brainstormed and researched and DIY’ed our little hearts out to make Rachel and Ethan’s campground wedding a reality. A lot of sweat and tears and love went into this and we couldn’t be more proud.
Rachel and Ethan got married at a Boy Scout Campground and honestly we can’t imagine a venue that could have been any more fitting. They are laid-back, relaxed, and simplistic and their wedding day was every bit as much the same. To walk through swarms of guests and hear them comment, “This is SO Rachel” warms a wedding planner’s heart and there are no better praises to be sung.
Rachel is the most genuinely sweet soul, so it came as no surprise that her friends were just as kind. The ladies enjoyed mimosas while getting ready at the most GORGEOUS airbnb and the photos have us already trying to book a night to stay!
Meanwhile, the boys roughed it in one of the cabins onsite. These guys took nothing seriously and were so obviously there just to rally around their boy. Camaraderie at its finest.
Charming little place, isn’t it?
Rachel and Ethan snuck off into the woods to share their own vows to one another before their actual ceremony. An intimate and private moment that no one will ever remember except themselves is what they wanted and they protected that time fiercely against the pressure to give in to wedding traditions.
By the grace of God, the promised rainy forecast never came that day and Rachel’s dream of saying “I do” underneath a canopy of trees, surrounded by wild greens and all of her favorite people all in one place became a reality.
Their friend, Matt, played acoustic guitar, the gospel was preached, and the rest is history.
The reception was simple, unconventional, and oh so fun! Guests helped themselves to a floating charcuterie board while waiting to order dinner at the food truck. Rachel and Ethan joined the party soon after so they could spend time enjoying all the little moments.
Dessert was comprised of homemade cookies and brownies from family members, alongside a local favorite donut shop. A total hit!
Rachel and Ethan kept the reception simple and sweet, focusing on the things they cared about and forgetting about the things they didn’t. Their friends and family laughed, cried, and most of all…DANCED.
Rachel and Ethan, we can’t thank you both enough for trusting us with your vision and for calling us friends. Our prayer for you is that the love of Christ would continually be present in your marriage and in the way you care for one another.
